On May 23, the Gwaii Trust held its first online annual general meeting, allowing directors and members of the public to attend without leaving their homes. Through Zoom, we presented our 2019 financial statements, confirmed our incoming board of directors, and shared some of the highlights of the past year. For example, during 2019, we awarded:
• 240 continuing education grants
• 171 travel grants
• $220,000 to local food security programs
• $180,000 to the Haida language programs
• $2 million in Vibrant Community grants to local governments and community organizations.

The annual report includes financial details and information about many of the projects we funded in 2019. We will be printing and distributing the report soon, as soon as it’s safe to do so.
